Shyamala Mani:

Shyamala K. Mani, Programme Director and National Coordinator, Waste and Resource Management (WaRM), Centre for Environment Education, India

Shyamala Mani is the Programme Director and National Coordinator of the Waste and Resources Management (WaRM) group at Centre for Environment Education (CEE)'s office in New Delhi , India . She has been with the CEE since 1987. Shyamala promotes environmental awareness among the general public and decision makers, seeking to influence them for planning and achieving a better quality of life for all. She started CEE's first regional office for southern India in 1988 and was the Coordinator of the same at Bangalore (1988-1994) & Delhi office (1994-2001). As Programme Officer while at Ahmedabad from October 1987 to December 1988, she coordinated the National Environmental Awareness Campaign for the southern and western region. Shyamala is also a Waste Management Consultant and has recently worked on projects funded by USAID and the World Bank Institute, in 11 states of the country. In 2006, Shyamala was appointed a member of Regional Advisory Committee of International Water Management Institute (IWMI) for South Asia , and in 2005 was appointed a member of the National Steering Committee on Control of POPs and Mercury. In October 2005, Shyamala was awarded the Plasticon Award for Best Innovative Plastic Recycling Technology. Shyamala has presented papers at numerous conferences in Asia and the Americas , including country papers on Environmental Education. Shyamala has degrees in Science and Education and received her PhD in Environmental Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2003 & was a visiting scholar in the University of California ,

Shubhangi Wankhede,

Programme Coordinator, Waste and Resource Management (WaRM), Centre for Environment Education, India Shubhangi Wankhede is the Programme Coordinator at Centre for Environment Education (CEE), India and is working with Waste and Resource Management (WaRM), group of Centre. She has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science with specialization in Environmental Management. She is elected as ‘ISWA International Waste Manager – Advanced Status’ by International Solid Waste Association. She has also undertaken ‘International Certificate Course in Environmental Education’ conducted by ‘South and South East Asia Network for Environmental Education (SASEANEE)’. She has been identified as External Resource Person by the ‘Engineering Staff College of India’, Hyderabad for its training programmes on various environmental issues. Prior to CEE, she was working with Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), India as Junior Research Fellow.

Indu Kumari Programme Officer, Waste and Resource Management (WaRM), Centre for Environment Education, Delhi

Indu Kumari is Programme Officer at Waste and Resource Management Group (WaRM), Centre for Environment Education, Delhi . She is M Phil in Natural Resource Management from Indian Institute of Forest Management. She has been o rganizing and providing trainings for Master trainer's Training of Doctors, Nurses and Housekeeping staff of 800 Nursing Homes on Bio-medical Waste Management in Delhi . She is also involved in pre and post KAP (Knowledge Attitude Practice) survey and monitoring of compliance to Bio-medical Waste Management Rules by the Health Care Establishments after the trainings and also preparing educational materials, documentation and formulation of new projects and Liaison with the donor agencies and corporate partners. She has also o verseen Chhattisgarh state office of CEE and has done Planning and implementation of CEE Projects in Chhattisgarh like- Sanitation and Hygiene Programme funded by WaterAid, Bhopal Reduction Programme.
